Presentation 2 · Friday 2024

How Do We Already Change The World Through Play?

mattie brice

Play is not a rehearsal for changing the world — it is already one of the ways we change it. This talk traces play as activism: the small refusals, reorderings, and speculative methodologies that reshape social relationships of power before any "serious" intervention arrives.

About this session

Working with contemporary social issues through play, mattie brice approaches games and play experiments as medium-agnostic — from the memoir game Mainichi to conceptual and performance work. This session asks how play already does political work, and what it means to design for that rather than around it.

The recording and slides above are placeholders demonstrating how the archive presents a talk: a video player, downloadable slides, an abstract, themed tags, and a link back to the speaker’s bio.
